Crab Cobb Salad and Krispy Kreme Donut Cake

Happy Tuesday and Happy Birthday to the number one man in my life! Hope everyone has been having a great summer so far! I am so thankful that things have calmed down at work some and that I have taken a little break from doing weddings on Saturdays! May, you were an EXTREMELY busy one. It seems like this past week I have gotten my social life back and have really enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Isn’t it funny how you go through stages and go from seeing your friends almost every day and then not seeing them for a month because…well, life! Eric is settled into his new higher position/old job at Ross Bridge and is loving being back where he really feels that he belongs!

Last night, we had an impromptu dinner over at our house. What started as 2 guests ended up as 5 guests, but hey, the more the merrier! I cooked a recipe that I have shared on the blog before: Crab Cobb Salad. It is truly on the top of mine and Eric’s favorites list (he has a lot, so he says). Everyone loved their Crab Cobb Salad last night! This is a perfect summer salad. P.S. Snow Crab is on sale at Publix for $8.99lb. Here is the Link- Crab Cobb Salad

Since it is Eric’s birthday today, and he had to be at work at 4am, I decided to do his “birthday cake” last night while we had friends over. This year I wanted to do something different. One of Eric’s guilty pleasures is Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, so I thought I would make him a cake out of it. It only took 13 donuts and cost $10.77 (with a coupon). On the bottom there are 5 donuts, next layer 4 donuts, next 3 donuts, and then the final layer is one donut. Its is not shown in the picture but I put a candle on each sprinkle donut! You can do whatever flavors you like! I think I’m going to do this every year! Inexpensive and Eric loved it!

On July 9th Eric and I are going to start the Whole 30. I have already been prepping and incorporating some Whole 30 recipes into our dinner plans. I am really trying to set us up for success, and between July 9th and August 9th we will actually be in town and have no huge events that will get in our way of eating healthy. So if you’re interested, I will be blogging about our experience, the shortcuts we found, and how to do it on a budget!

Tonight, I am cooking a new zoodles (zucchini noodles) recipe that Eric requested for his birthday dinner! Check back tomorrow for the recipe!
