Steals and Deals for Redecorating!
Happy Monday!
First, let me apologize for not sharing the zoodle recipe with you last week. Whole Foods was out of zucchini noodles, and I ended up not getting home until 8:51pm from work. Did y’all see that Amazon bought Whole Foods for $13.7 billion last week? This should be interesting! But since it was Eric’s birthday and almost 9pm, I picked up sushi and teriyaki chicken! I hope to do the zoodles recipe this week, and I will share I promise.
If you follow me on Instagram, I did some cooking this weekend and will share with you the Butterscotch Brownies. I had lots of messages wanting me to share this recipe. They are so yummy and my Dad’s favorite. I had never heard of anyone liking butterscotch cookies or brownies besides my Dad until I met Eric. It’s actually somewhat creepy how much my Dad and Eric’s taste buds are alike. I remember when we first started dating, it weirded me out. Like any fast food place or even running into the gas station and grabbing a candy bar, Eric and my dad would pick/order the same thing. Seriously, I remember Eric coming out of the gas station one time with a Zero Bar and Mtn. Dew and saying to him, “Weird, I thought my dad was the only one who ate Zero Bars.”
So this week should be packed full of recipes, but today I thought I would share with you the redecorating of our guest bedroom, and the deals I got that are still available! Yes, I am one of these people that wants my whole house decorated as soon as I move in, but it’s just unrealistic. So I told Eric that I would do a little bit at a time. He knows I don’t pay full prices for anything, so he trusts me in that aspect. Once again, I found some amazing deals. Y’all, I have always been a Target lover. Actually, I’m obsessed! As of recently, I really feel like Target has stepped it up with their online store for decor. My whole guest room is from Target or World Market. I should really purchase stock in these two companies…
For those that don’t know, Target will honor their website prices in store. So if you see something in the store and it’s on sale online, all you have to do is pull it up and show the cashier. I don’t buy anything now without checking the website first! Below is how and I got everything for a steal and the links to all items.
Target
Queen Metal Bed—I first saw this bed at Erdos in Hoover. They were almost identical, but I’m sure the one at Erdos was higher quality. It was over $1,000, and I just couldn’t let myself spend that. I was on Instagram one day and thanks to LTK: liketoknow.it.home (shout out to Forrest), I saw this bed again. I clicked on the link and couldn’t believe it pulled up Target’s website. Not only was it Target, but this queen bed was only $250. It was also an additional 10% off with a promo code and an additional 5% off with my red card. So I purchased this bed for $209.47. I read many reviews before buying this because I was afraid it was cheaply made, but I was very impressed when we put it together.
Bedding—I had been looking for bedding for some time now and after buying and returning, I finally found this bedding at Target and loved it. It was just what I was looking for! I got this for $62.99 with a 10% off promo code and then additional 5% off. I did have to order the shams separately, but those were on sale for $17.99 a sham and then marked down 10% off with promo code and 5% off with red card. So I purchased the bedding and shams for $84.12.
Bed Skirt—$15.99 in store but was on sale online and marked down to $14.40 with an additional 5% with my red card. So ultimately, I paid $13.68 for the bed skirt.
Euros—Marked down from $29.99 to $26.99 with additional 10% off online and then additional 5% off with my red card, so it was $23.08 for each euro. I actually bought these online and picked them up in the store.
Sheets—I wanted white sheets to match all the bedding. These sheet were on sale as well. Originally $45.99 but marked down to $41.39. I applied the 10% off promo code and then 5% off with my red card.
Accent Table—I actually bought this nightstand when we were living at our old house and have always loved it, but never felt like it really went with my old headboard. It’s amazing how much you can love something by changing things around it. I got this on sale, but I don’t remember how much. I bought this in October 2015. I will tell you I did not pay the price it is today.
Framed Feather Paintings—I have seen these for a while and loved them. I finally bought them. Originally $74.99 but marked down to $71.24 and then 15% off with promo code, so I got them for $60.56.
World Market
Throw—I saw this throw and loved it. It has all the colors I was trying to pull out in the paintings. This was not on sale. $34.99
Throw Pillows—These pillows two weekends ago were buy one, get one free. I was for sure I wouldn’t find any because this was an awesome deal, but I did! I got two pillows that were originally $29.99 a piece. I had a $10 Birthday Reward to claim, so I did that as well. I got BOTH pillows for $19.99.
Z Gallerie
Vase—I had this vase at our last house, and I love it! They don’t have it on their website anymore, but they did have one that was the same height (58’) and very similar to mine. I did get mine on sale.
Lastly, I did have someone ask me about my paint color, and it is Sherwin William’s Crushed Ice.
Just thought I would share the deals I lucked out on while decorating. While there are still a few minor things I still have to do to the room, the majority of decorating is done. Hope this helps anyone who is in the same boat as me trying to decorate a whole house on a tight budget
