Whole 30- Day 12-14 Shrimp Boil

Happy Thursday- This week has gone by fast for me. I know I am delayed in posting my Whole 30 updates, but this past week has been extremely busy at work. I can tell that everyone is back in town and getting ready for school to start.

Day 12—I had a late lunch on Friday at work! I had grilled shrimp and sautéed vegetables. So yummy! So Friday night for dinner, we cleaned out the fridge. Eric ate left over pot roast, and I had a salad for dinner. Nothing exciting.

Day 13—Saturday morning, I got up and cooked us breakfast. We had sausage patties, eggs, and fresh fruit. I also made more egg and sausage muffins for Eric to have since he was off Sunday and Monday. Here is the recipe for those of you who missed my blog post about.
Y’all, Saturday sucked! What was supposed to be a productive Saturday turned into the most unproductive day, besides grabbing lunch with a friend and making a big Costco run. I somehow lost my keys while we were at lunch and STILL are nowhere to be found. Thank goodness for Roadside Assistance because my parents were an hour away, and Eric was at work. I was really taking a chance hoping my spare key was in my car. Yeah…why was it in my car? Because it had not been working, and I was due for an oil change, so I put it in my car for them to look at it. Well God was truly on my side because once Pop-a-Lock came and unlocked my car, my spare key fob was in there, but when I tried to start my car, it wouldn’t start. After calling the dealership, they told me that if it doesn’t work that I would have to get my car towed to the dealership and would need my key reprogrammed. Did I mention that it was 3pm, and they closed at 4pm? Honestly, the Pop-a-Lock guy was an angel. He told me if I put my fob on the start button, it would send a charge, and it should start right up. Well what do you know, the car started!!!!! So off to Wal-mart I went to get a battery for my key fob…of course they don’t have it so two stores later, I finally find the battery. I think I got home close to 5pm, and I met my friend for lunch at 1pm. I tell ya, it was a day!

P.S. If anyone is in the Birmingham area and on the Whole 30, Real and Rosemary in Homewood has lots of gluten-free and vegan options. It made ordering lunch easy!

Day 14—Eric and I got up bright and early and headed over to my sister’s house to get some shelves for our garage. Since we moved into our new house, we hadn’t touched the garage, and it was driving me absolutely insane. I mean it looked like a bomb had gone off, and I’m not exaggerating. So Eric and I heated up left over muffins and sausage patties and had breakfast on the fly. After we got back home, I cleaned up to the best of my ability before having a house full of guests over for our shrimp boil. I was supposed to clean our house on Saturday, but you see how that turned out. Oh well! Maybe I should use this as a good example to share with Eric as to why I want a maid once a month, haha! Anyways, 5:30pm came fast, and we had over some friends for a shrimp boil. While Eric and I didn’t eat apps, desserts, or the corn out of the shrimp boil mix, we did eat everything else. We had shrimp, sausage, red potatoes, and corn on the cob in the mix! We used Zatarain’s Shrimp and Crab Boil. From what I could tell, this was whole 30 approved. It uses allspice in the seasoning. I even went as far to look up what was in allspice—no sugar, thank goodness.  It was a fun night and made me wish it was easier to get everyone together, but with some in different states and most of us all over the Birmingham metro area, it can be challenging.

Tomorrow I will share with you my grilled wings recipe! Delicious!

Here are a few photos from the night!
